For my literature circle, I had to read the Short Bus by Jonathan Mooney. I find the book very interesting. I never read a book from the eyes of an adult with a learning disability. I really like the idea that he is interviewing different people with disabilities. I feel like it gives a different perceptive of how it feels to have a disability. Honestly, the book also is very hard for me to read. Its not the language or the structure that is difficult for me. It is the way that the teachers that the author is mentioning to me that make it very hard for me to stomach. The teachers are so mean and cruel to their students that it is shocking. Me wanting to be a special education teacher, makes me want to go to those teachers and say " what are you thinking! These children having feeling and you screaming at them about doing things that they can not control is not okay!" When I become a teacher, I will never talk to my students the way that the teachers talk to their students in the book.
